Ryedale Folk Museum Holiday Club

In July, we had a fantastic time at our annual Holiday Club at Ryedale Folk Museum. The day was packed with instrument making, folk music, ceilidh dancing, and much more.

We started the morning with a delicious, healthy breakfast - the strawberries were a definite highlight! After breakfast, we had a short introduction before splitting into two groups for the day. One set off on a ‘hob hunt’ around the museum whilst the other group made instruments with local artist Serena Partridge.

A filling lunch was provided by the Forge Tea Rooms, which gave everyone lots of energy to take part in the afternoon workshops.

After lunch the day continued with a folk music workshop and ceilidh dancing. Feeding the chickens provided a short break!

An enjoyable day was rounded off by a special performance for parents and carers. This featured a fun-filled ceilidh that had everyone up and dancing.
