RSMF Celebration Choir 2026

Richard Shephard Music Foundation has been providing weekly music lessons in schools across York for the last 5 years. To celebrate our 5-year anniversary, we are excited to announce the launch of our Celebration Choir which will give children from across York a chance to come together and sing!

The choir will be led by musician Emilie Bels, a qualified teacher and experienced choir leader, who has worked in primary schools for several years delivering fun and inspiring music lessons. She will be accompanied by support staff to help look after the young people throughout the sessions. All staff have full DBS checks.

Where: Rehearsals will take place at Carr Junior School (YO26 5QA)

When: Friday 24th April 4pm-6pm; Saturday 25th April 1.30pm-3.30pm; Saturday 9th May 1.30pm-3.30pm [n.b. your child must be able to attend all 3 rehearsals in order to take part]

Performances: The choir will perform on Saturday 16th May at St Chad’s Church (YO23 1PE) and on Sunday 17th May at York Mela in Museum Gardens
