Runners take on the Yorkshire Coast 10k to Support Music in Scarborough Schools

A team of ten runners are taking on Scarborough's Yorkshire Coast 10K on Sunday 11 October 2026 to raise vital funds for the Foundation’s music lessons in Scarborough schools.

We believe that every child should have the opportunity to experience the benefits of making music. Through our work in schools, we support access to high-quality musical opportunities and help children develop confidence, creativity, communication and a sense of belonging.

We currently deliver weekly curricular music lessons to over 500 pupils in Scarborough and we’re hoping to increase this number.

“Music inspires, unites and empowers. The Foundation brings that power into classrooms – ensuring every child, whatever their background, can access high-quality music teaching,” said Andrea Hayes, former Headteacher and Trustee of the Foundation.
