Could you become a trustee of the Richard Shephard Music Foundation?

“Becoming a trustee is a challenge that only justifies the effort if the cause is convincing. Richard Shephard was a very good person and a good friend, and to celebrate his memory is on its own is good enough reason to join the Foundation. But to allow his wishes by bringing weekly music lessons to children in primary schools across the region is a wonderful, joyous experience. The Foundation’s success adds to the pleasure.” Sir Ron Cooke - Trustee

We’re seeking up to three new trustees over the course of the next year, partly due to the planned retirement of current trustees. We’re looking for people with a passion for music education, who could bring experience in one or more of the following:

• Work in the music education sector or school leadership

• Networks or connections with the music and cultural sector

• Experience of raising funds or developing new income streams

• Equity, diversity, and inclusion

This highly rewarding role is voluntary but out-of-pocket expenses can be reimbursed and training and support provided. Trustees are expected to attend around four meetings each year, all held at our central York offices.

For further information, to arrange an informal chat about the role, or to submit your CV for consideration, please email info@rsmf.org.uk.
